It was common for people to make pilgrimages to monasteries. Different monasteries were known to possess different powers and people would visit them seeking spiritual guidance and fulfillment of their wishes. Some of them were prominent sites of pilgrimage where people would always flock to, even from the most distant corners of Armenia.
