In the Armenian Church, the Feast of Saint Karapet is the most elaborately celebrated one among all the feasts in the memory of saints. According to the ecclesiastical calendar it was celebrated on the 15th of January – on Hovhannes-Karapet’s (John the Baptist’s) birthday. His monastery has been credited with many powers and people have been visiting it with hope that it will fulfill their wishes.
