Melody/Lyrics

This is one of the most popular songs in the region of Mush. It's possible that this song is related to drought as well. It tells a story of a teenage boy named Gor, who used to defend the land of a poor peasant from clouds of grasshoppers. In the time of drought, he would bring handfuls of water, and water the sun-burnt wheat stems one by one. If it hailed, he would turn his back to the sky and the hail would turn into rain. One day, Gor went to fight the dragon that was guarding the water and he never came back. People composed a song for him called "Gorani,” in which they are asking him to return home.
