This is a bedtime song for a baby. The songs of Aken are like echoes of medieval Armenian songs. They are consistent with Armenian rhythmic modes. Many Armenian songs have been preserved in medieval handwritten scripts, but their melodies, unfortunately, are lost. The songs of Aken are the only source available to us from that period.
